In the summer of 2018, I had the opportunity to work with Sage Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company, and SixSense Strategy Group as they approached ways to make a positive impact in the Postpartum Depression community. With Sage’s Patient Advocacy Group and associates from SixSense Strategy Group, we travelled to four U.S. states in the course of a week, organizing workshops for those affected by PPD. Attendees of these workshops ranged from patients, family members, and survivors of PPD. The workshops organized by Sage put a strong emphasis on women’s mental health, and gave these individuals a safe space to talk about PPD and how it affected their lives.
My role in this was to document the workshops and the journey through videos and photos that allowed Sage to share their story and the purpose behind this strategic approach. The first video describes the journey and the process from Sage’s perspective, and the second video goes into the strategic planning behind this series.
In March 2019, the drug developed by Sage Therapeutics created specifically to treat PPD was approved by the FDA.
